Mark Cocanougher,
Palazzo Designs’ founder, brings 20 years of
diverse talents, interests and design experience to
commercial and residential interiors and restoration
projects.
Mark began his design career as apprentice to a
conservator specializing in pre-20th century American
& European works of art. As a natural offshoot of
his conservation efforts, he co-founded a Kansas City
design firm that specialized in antique acquisition,
floral design and event planning. Clients included the
Ritz-Carlton and Hyatt Regency hotels, Woolf Brothers
and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Mark founded Dallas-based Palazzo Design in 1995. He
is a self-described classicist. His design philosophy
is characterized by a "respect for artistic intent and
architectural integrity—the essential elements of
design and art".
"One has to recognize the thread of history to
assess what is true and specific to a particular style
or piece. Only when you understand the importance of
form, proportion, line and color in their earliest
incarnation can you reinterpret them for today yet
transcend fashion and trend." It is this philosophy that
prompted several national furniture manufacturers to
hire Mark as design consultant.
Mark will utilize his skills and knowledge to insure
that your project meets your needs and taste. He can
create custom designs from art and furniture to
architectural elements and accessories.
Mark's work has been featured in publications as
diverse as Woman's Day and Traditional
Home.
Mark actively participates in the design community as
an allied member American Society of Interior Design
(ASID).
